The contest dates run from January 1 to the next December 31.
No application forms are necessary. There is no
limit on the number of pages.
Eligibility: All garden clubs, districts, councils, and garden centers belonging to
NGC may submit a Press Book. Garden club entries are divided in four categories based on membership:
Small: up to
25 members
Medium: 26 - 5o members
Large: 51 - 150 members
Extra Large: over 150
Winners will
be presented a NGC Certificate of Commendation.
There are 1st, 2nd 3rd, and HM in each division in each NGC Region.
2. Format: Entries must be submitted in a folder with holes to firmly hold the pages; a theme-style binder, amphile
or oxford brief folder.
No heavy scrapbooks, oversized portfolios or loose clippings will be judged.
Size:
8 1/2" x 11" or 9" x 12".
1. The cover must have a label affixed stating the category as follows:
Number
and name of NGC award,
GARDEN CLUBS: Note Category above
Name of Garden Club - City - State - Region and name,
address of person submitting press book.
DISTRICTS: List name; location; and state.
COUNCILS & Garden
Centers; List name; location; and state.
3. Contents: Material must consist of only actual newspaper, magazine, newsletter
or any printed publication "clippings" with the name and date of publication over each article. Clear photocopies are permitted;
reduced photocopies of large or lengthy articles are permitted. Downloading of published newspaper articles from the Internet
is permitted.
4. No table of contents is required. (however, in point criteria, "table of contents is required) -
Affix contents in chronological order beginning January 1 and ending December 31.
5. Clippings evenly
cut. No loose clippings permitted.
6. Each published item must contain the name of organization and/or individual/s
identified as a member of the organization. Underline first use of name of organization and/or member in each article.
7.
Articles should include who, what, when, where, etc.: publicity should relate to organization's or individual's projects and/or
activities; promotion of NGC objectives and goals.

Meets

Articles for each month (take in consideration dark months, use of varied publications and media (newspaper,
